Our son took lessons with Chris for over 8 years (from age 7 to 15). Not only was Chris a phenomenal teacher and a very skilled drummer, but he is a genuine human who also became a mentor for our son—even to this day. He is caring and patient but firm and has all the characteristics a parent would expect from a music instructor.

With a solid 8 year foundation of rudiments and skills passed down by Chris, our son has gone on to play starting snare in high school and college marching bands, indoor percussion and is currently performing in DCI. - Stacy & Will

My son began drum lessons with Chris when he was just 8 years old, and now, at 11, the progress he's made is nothing short of incredible. Watching his skills grow—from learning basic rhythms to confidently reading and understanding music—has been such a gift. We truly credit Chris for that. He’s more than just a teacher—he’s become a mentor and a constant in my son’s life. Chris has this unique ability to connect, inspire, and challenge in all the right ways. His influence has made a lasting impact, and we’re so thankful to have him in our corner. - Dawn

Chris is a fantastic drum instructor. He is patient, encouraging, and explains each concept in a way that is easy for our 9-year-old to understand. His lessons are both fun and educational, and we've seen great progress in our child's drumming skills and confidence. We highly recommend Chris to anyone looking for a dedicated and professional drumming instructor. - Tim

I've been taking drum lessons with Chris since 2017, and from the very beginning, he went above and beyond. He always made sure my parents felt welcome and involved, allowing them to sit in and be a part of the learning process until I was confident enough to attend on my own. Chris pushed me harder than anyone else ever has, but he also believed in me just as strongly. He didn’t just teach me how to play; he taught me how to believe in my playing.

Even when I drifted away from music for a while, I knew that if I ever returned, there was only one person I’d trust to guide me: Chris. He’s not just a phenomenal instructor, he’s an incredible mentor and a genuinely good person. Over the years, he became someone I truly look up to. He recognized my potential even when I couldn’t see it myself and knew exactly when to challenge me because he believed I could always be better.

Chris has taught me so much more than rhythm and technique. He’s taught me resilience, discipline, and confidence. He reminded me that while life can be hard, we can be stronger. For anyone looking to grow, not just as a drummer, but as a person. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

I came to Chris as a novice hobby drummer with my first band. Chris recognized my potential and shaped his teaching style to my goals. He’s an amazing drummer who understands not only a vast variety of styles, but the bigger picture of what it means to be a drummer. As of result of Chris’s teaching, I’m a better artist today and closer to my goals then ever before. - Mike Ewing

Chris is a great teacher. I was previously taught by his teacher Martin and when he retired I lucked out and got Chris. I’ve been taking lessons for 6 years and I have been beyond satisfied. He is very personable and can teach to your interests while optimizing your growth and knowledge as a musician efficiently. You feel comfortable asking questions and he doesn’t shy away from correcting mistakes. Not only does he care about the music he also cares about your growth as an individual. I couldn’t recommend Chris enough. He gives you a multitude of tools to fine tune a variety of skills. Eternally making you a better drummer. I couldn’t be more grateful to have Chris as my teacher.

I started lessons with Chris when I was in seventh grade. I had barely any experience on the drums before these lessons and was basically clueless when it came to the drumset. When I started lessons with Chris not only did I feel welcomed but I also immediately began to learn all the basics and fundamentals of drumming while still having lots of fun. Looking back, I have had lessons with Chris for several years now, and his teaching method has helped me succeed in jazz and several other styles of drumming such as in marching and concert band. I have progressed more than I ever thought I would and I have come extremely far from where I started. None of it could have been achieved without Chris’s extremely advanced knowledge of drumming as well as his amazing teaching style. Chris is an amazing teacher and friend.
